Microsoft Discontinues Support for XP, Office 2003, Poses Risks
by Twinstate Technologies
As of April 2014, Microsoft® will no longer produce updates for Windows XP and Office 2003. This leaves slow adopters facing serious security risks. Many Microsoft updates address emerging threats to cyber security, in addition to stability updates. The lack of IT support creates problems, as the access to the helpdesk is expected to become unavailable. This means no more calls to support for assistance figuring out a software conflict or data recovery options. Third-party service providers will also cease to offer support for software and hardware, since they will have no way to access support from company. This could leave your business with no way to update important software that your system uses.
